Facts about Burma Bureau

Burma Bureau started to function by Exile Burmese and German Friends on 1st April 1992 in Bochum, which led eventually to founding an Association in 1994 at Cologne.followings are Our fundamental goals........

1.to give assistance and support to the people of Burma for their struggles

in terms of Democracy, Freedom and Human rights

2.to promote German-Burmese Friendship

3.to help Burmese Refugees in the border area and at abroad

We are absolutely independent of Party Politics, Religion and races. Burma Bureau is solely non profit organization, which has been financed since 2001 more or less by member fees.We would be very glad, if you give us support for our noble goals through your participation as a means of Membership or Donation.Branches and Affiliates.

Burma Bureau is a social orgnization for the welfare of Burmese and freedom of Burma.The main aim of this organization is to help Burmese in Germany and to oppose the Burmese military dictatorship,couped since 1962.The main office is in Cologne working by Ko Aung Thu and one branch is in Frankfurt running by Ko Sonny and others Burma Buero Members.In Germany about 1000 Burmese are living.A number of Burmese are waiting to go back their Motherland but Military junta is so afraid to allow.Some of them waiting over 40 years to see their relatives,Homeland and to visit the Pagodas but the situation in Burma is still terrible state,no a piece of light of hope they have.Over 1500 political prisoners ara put in jail and giving death sentences including the monks.Some of monks passed away in prison but no body know how.

The leader of students in 1988,Min Ko Nein was arrested in 1991 the Military law court decided to stay him in prison(10)years but 10 years is over. He is still in jail.He was only 27 years old when he was arrested but now he is over(41) no pen and no writing allowed for him.He is now in Sittwe prison,very far way from Rangoon,the capital of Burma where his parents living.The reason putting away him is not to have contact his parents and to suffer more for him then he will give up his political belief.This is a stupid thinking of by the Military junta but Min Ko Nein will never give up his belief till his life end.He is ready to donate his life for the people.For the freedom of Min Ko Nein and other political prisoners or for the welfare of Burma you may help us by financial supporting or by doing some activities.We will be glad if you have time sharing with us.

The annual meeting of Burma Bureau e.V. was held at the Buddha Sasana Ramsi Monastry, Goethestrasse 51, D-63067 Offenbach/Main on Sunday, the 30th. November 2008.
